If you know me, in real life, then you know that I am obsessed with YouTube. If my TV set hopped of its stand and proceeded to nae-nae on the coffee-table, I wouldn’t even notice. My eyes would be glued to the YouTube video playing on my cell. That’s how 2015 I am.
This love has existed since my parents finally agreed to install an internet connection at home. So, a few years ago I took the plunge and started a little YouTube project where I uploaded videos of myself talking about books — my favorite topic. And after I took a break from that, I began to think of another way to combine another one of my favorite topics with YouTube.
And that’s how I came up with Africa This Week With Siyanda, a show where I discuss African current affairs and give quick commentary on it. I aim to keep the show under 7 minutes, and make it a weekly endeavor.
Its still in the early stages and I plan to improve it with each episode. I’m a quick learner, so don’t despair if the lighting is off and the sound is off right now. Very soon, it won’t be. And the content will always be what I strive to do my best to create and deliver.
